Hi I am the deacon and just thought I would say Hi, I have been working at www.edinburghhorrortours.co.uk  they are only doing private booking just now, but are starting public bookings shortly, anyway while I was in the dark Mausoleum in the Greyfriars Cemetry, with a private tour doing my best to un nerve them I was hit very hard on the back of my head and once more on my upper arm, since I was in front of everyone there was noone near me, i sort of lost my balance, i was 100% sceptic till then, i was myself unnerved and it took a few weeks to get my nerve up, as it happened nothing went on with the group just me the guide.

I have since had nothing, apart from photographing orbs. I shall post these later. see what you lot think?

Regards Deacon

Hi, it is a new company, just doing private tours at the minute, But edinburgh Horror Tours , is starting very shortly to do public tours. It is funny but i must be the most sceptical person, and already had a couple of instances where things that cannot be explained have happened.

Only on our second tour did we get a phone call from a woman who said that things have been happening to her since she went on our tour, she said she was hearing static sort of noises, and a hoarse voice that she thinks may have said we are here, i first thought she was at the wind up, but she in no way sounds like a crank, she also said that she seen a reflection of a face in the window, but when she focused straight on it disappeared, but said there was a horrible smelly oudour.

I have not a clue about any of this and did not no what to say to her, not sure I believe her, but then again she sounds so genuine.

Regards Deacon

You know, I would have loved to have done Covenanters prison. Doubt whether i will get back to scotland again :-(.  I called Mackenzie........not a sign. Where was he? I was told he was there near his tomb when i called but he dare not make a move. Why????? I think I know why and many may not believe this but I have a spirit who is earthbound still I believe and he doesnt let any unsavoury spirits get near me......much to my annoyance.

I do a few places here in oz where there are unsavoury characters...like maitland gaol.
If they get too close I feel nauseous. They dont get too close that they can make marks on me. Just their energy close by can make me feel sick.
I have an irish spiritman who does not let other spirits who are not nice get to close to me. I wonder if he is letting any spirits get too close to me to be honest. I think he lets women and children spirits come near me. He has told me that if they are "making eyes" lol he 'shows them my fist". That is a warning not to come near but you know I am an investigator and I find it sort of a hurdle when he does this. He tells me I 'dont know his life and that he does and for me to have faith in him' Thats his words.......

This particular night at the gaol up the top of b wing where the bad murderers and rapists are(that is where the man who calls us whores is) i got this evp. You see, I think the spirit who calls us whores makes me feel sick. He does stuff. I walk in there sometimes and I feel very weird like the ground is moving under me like on a boat. I have walked up the stairs and had a hand pushign my head back down the stairs to stop me coming up....I have been pushed i think down the stairs as once  I missed 2 stairs and fell on the girls in front of me. In ever do stuff like that as im very careful. I coudnt explain it......

Last time we actually remarked on the quietness. I felt no spirits near me or nausea. I didnt even hear John (spirit) ask me to leave in a worried manner. Then  chris remarks on the quietness and asks if the spirits are scared of us. John (spirit wiht me) says " no......your being guarded" Now i dont knwo if it is a ghost prison guard watchign out for us or it was John. I know John watches out for me...he has told me. He tells me I "cause him grief" lollllllllllll
I dotn mean to do that but Im a ghost investigator and he knows that because that is how I met him . He is very helpful in tellign us where to put our equipment but when it comes to allowing spirits to come near me to talk or to interact, well he draws the line.......

I was recently asked by some friends who were visiting us what attractions there were in Edinburgh, they wanted something out of the  ordinary.
I had seen flyers about the evening walks through the old streets of Edinburgh and thought “ That would suit them”
Of the companies supplying these tours I was most impressed with the Brochure of  Edinburgh Horror Tours.
We assembled at the start point for the Edinburgh Horror Tour and was welcomed by a character called The Deacon who was to be our guide for the evening tour.
The Horror tour was professionally conducted with lots of little snippets of spine chilling information given throughout that 90 minute walk, at times I was convinced that there were spiritual sensations surrounding us as we strolled through the dark nooks & crannies of the Tour.
The highlight of this spine chilling walk was that you actually sensed that the ghosts of days past were actually there with us, stories of  torture and public hangings and mention of witches being burnt was very scary and at one point my legs went to jelly.
At the close of the tour we were taken into the Greyfriars cemetery which was very daunting and the air seemed to change temperature as we walked in. We were then surprised by The Deacon taking us into the Mausoleum where the walls seemed to be covered by shadows that looked like ghostly images, I was starting to feel uneasy about being inside a mausoleum but also intrigued by witnessing the ghostly images.

I would recommend The Edinburgh Horror Tour as a must see, I understand that they offer 3 different tours at different times of the day, the Evening tour has some other scary parts that I haven’t mentioned because it would spoil the tour if you knew what was coming.
One of my party was fortunate enough to be given a memento by The Deacon.
After the tour I really needed a stiff drink so we went into the nearest public house, well I hasten to add I drank spirits to try and calm my nerves from the ’spirits’ that had visited me during the tour.

OMG, how lucky is this, i have just signed up for another reason and i saw this topic and I had to comment.

I went on one of the "Edinburgh Horror tours" last weekend with a group of uni friends
and I would love to say that we had a good time but unfortunately it was not to be.

The guide was late turning up by 15 minutes and when we asked for a discounted rate due to him being late we were told no. As you can imagine this did not start things of very well and all through the tour the guide kept forgetting parts of the story and he insisted on saying "forgive me, where was I?" after the 20th time of this i wanted to scratch my eyes out.

The guide's history was also very bad, his dates were all wrong for starters and some of the "Tales" he told sounded like he had just made them up on the spot. Oh sorry i forgot to mention that my friends and I are in 3rd year studying Scottish history.

It got so bad that my friends and i left the tour as we approached Greyfriars churchyard as none of us could take anymore "Made up" history. We were all left shocked that a company can survive treating customers as idiots, and granted some people may beleive every word the guide says and take that as the gospel truth and I for one think this shouldnt happen as it is damaging the fine city and it could give other companys a bad name as it has put us off ever doing a "Ghost/History tour ever again.

I have emailed the company about a refund and i have also let them know my feelings about the tour but i have heard nothing back from them yet. I have also waited at the starting point of the tours to speak to an employee to pass on my details for a manager to get back to me but nobody is ever there. I have also left my contact details on the answering machine several times but to no avail.

I would advise everyone to avoid this company at all cost!

Deacon, if you are reading this can you please get in contact with me as i am sure you are aware of who i am from the countless emails and phone messages i have sent you.
